PARENT / GUARDIAN INFORMATION ON TRYOUTS

 

-   THERE IS NO COST TO TRYOUT!!!!!!!

-         The FORCE has teams for both boys and girls in grades 4 thru 11 [in the AAU girls now go by grade just like the boys always have]

-         Teams are based on current grade in school during the 2007 - 2008 school year

-         Please read this entire website for additional details on the FORCE program, such as fees, length of season, practice locations, etc.

-         Directions to our tryout location, which is the South Metro Sports Center in Centerville can be found on the web page after the tryout schedule.

-         A parent or guardian must attend the start of the tryout session in order to fill-out and sign the tryout release form. No one will be allowed to tryout without the proper adult signature.

-          THERE IS NO NEED TO PRE-REGISTER

-         ANYONE INTERESTED IN COACHING SHOULD CONTACT TONY LUPIA AT tlupia@ovforce.com

-         In each of the boy’s grades, we usually have two or three teams (A, B, and sometimes C). So we keep the best 20-30 kids out of the 70-75 that usually tryout for that grade. In the girl’s grades, we have one or two teams so we keep 10-20 players from the 30-35 that come out.

-         Most of our players come from Montgomery, Greene and Warren counties, but we accept players from anywhere in the state.

-         Please come 15-20 minutes in advance of the time listed for your son’s or daughter’s particular tryout so you can fill-out the appropriate paperwork and they can be ready to start on time.

-         The locker rooms at our tryout site will NOT be available so players must come dressed to participate.

-         Parents / Guardians are encouraged to stay for the entire time in order to observe the tryout process. There is plenty of room for you to sit and watch tryouts. There is also a nice concession stand and plenty of restrooms in the tryout facility.  

-         If you son or daughter makes one of our teams you will then have a couple of weeks to pay the $495 fee. Payment plans are available, but EVERYONE must eventually pay the entire fee! Discounts are given for multiple players from the same family. Should your son or daughter have a uniform from last year that is still in good shape, their fee will be reduced.

Directions:

From the North

-         take I-75 SOUTH to exit #44 -> Dayton Mall / Miamisburg / St. Route 725

-         stay in the middle lane on the exit ramp and go LEFT off the exit ramp onto St. Route 725; go under the Interstate, staying in the RIGHT lane

-         turn RIGHT (south) at the first light onto St. Route 741- Springboro Pike.

-         keep going south past all the stores, past Lexis-Nexis and past Metropolitan Life. When you see the big blue MetLife sign on your right, get ready to turn LEFT at the next traffic light.

-         turn LEFT at Austin Pike (traffic light just BEFORE you get to the little airport). 

-         drive along side of the airport for 1.2 miles and turn RIGHT on Success Lane (there is a small two-story office building on the corner - the lane only cuts in on the left but be careful not to miss it because it is not a big intersection).

-         The South Metro Sports Center is about 200 yards down on your right. There is a parking lot in the front of the building.  

From the South
